Shopping

Today we headed to the local Carefor. Carefor is a big store (similar to WalMart) in China. They have just about anything you can think of. At the store we wanted to get Zach some new shoes as the ones that he had were pink, and Joe was not crazy about Zach running around in pink shoes. While shopping, we really got stared at and lots of people coming up to us fawning over Zach. I guess they were really curious as to why two Americans had a toddler Chinese boy. All of the people that came up to us were all very nice. After shopping we went to McDonalds. Zach experienced his first french fry and I have to say that he loved it.

LOL! :) We actually noticed those pink shoes the other day and commented that not many American dudes (i.e. Joe) would be thrilled about their son in pink shoes. (Or else we were just able to read Joe's mind.)

You guys look like a great family together - looks like Zach is really doing well. YAY!! (And I wouldn't mind a McDonald's fry or two myself.) :)

That's too funny! I wondered how long it would take before the pink shoes were replaced. He pulls off the look nicely though. :)

It's very cool that you are getting to know the locals.

It looks as if Zach is bonding well with you -- I love how he's leaning right into you Julie for support when he's trying on his shoes. Isn't that the best feeling?

So happy for all of you!
